T400 Controller Facilities Manual
667/EB/20200/000 Page 9-28 Issue 9
(1) Priority Mode Fault Monitor
When the input becomes active the Monitor Timer is started. When the input becomes
inactive the Monitor Timer is reset providing it has not timed off. If it has, i.e. the input
has been active for an abnormal amount of time, then the Priority Unit is disabled. A
fault is then recorded against the Priority Unit and the Cabinet Alarm is illuminated.
If the input now becomes inactive, one way of re-enabling the Priority Unit is to reset
the DFM. This is achieved by either pressing the DFM Reset button on the manual
panel or by using the DFM Reset Command on the handset. The fault log entry will
not be reset.
The other way of re-enabling the Priority Unit is to use the Bus DFM Self Reset
facility.
(2) Emergency Vehicle Mode Fault Monitor
When the input becomes active the Monitor Timer is started. When the input becomes
inactive the Monitor Timer stops but is not reset unless the input is inactive for a
specified period - the Emergency Gap Time.
If the input becomes active again within the Emergency Gap Time then the Monitor
Timer will continue to time. If the Monitor Timer times off, i.e. the input has been
active for an abnormal amount of time, then the Priority Unit is disabled.
The Priority Unit will be re-enabled by the input becoming inactive for the Emergency
Gap Time. The fault log entry will not be reset.
The timing range of the Monitor Timer is 0 to 2550 seconds in 10 second steps.
9.4.3(j) Priority DFM Self Reset Facility (Priority Mode Only)
This facility allows a disabled Priority Unit to be re-enabled by the associated input
becoming inactive. The fault log entry will not be reset.
9.4.3(k) Emergency Gap Time (Emergency Vehicle Mode Only)
The Emergency Gap Timer is started by an input becoming inactive and is reset by the
input becoming active.
A disabled Priority Unit will be re-enabled if the input is inactive for the Emergency
Gap Time. The fault log entry will not be reset.
The timing range is 0 to 255 seconds in 1 second steps.
Note: the Emergency Gap Time is sometimes referred to as the Detection Interrupt
Period.
9.4.3(l) Priority and Emergency Vehicle Parallel Stage Streaming Facilities
Each stream will move around its own stages according to its own Priority or
Emergency Vehicle demands and extensions independent of any other streams.
