a) Red Lamp Monitoring on Part-Time Signals
The LMU outputs have the following effects on the controller when they become
active.
Indication 1: The cabinet alarm lamp flashes which overrides a requirement
for it to be continuously illuminated. The all red period of
intergreens will be extended up to 3 seconds. This extension will
not be apparent if the all-red period during the normal
intergreen is equal to or greater than 3 Secs.
Indication 3: The all red period for the intergreens will be extended up to 8
seconds for any Vehicle to Ped. transition.
Indication 2: Within 500ms of this signal becoming active the signals
extinguish and will not switch on until Indication 2 becomes
inactive.
b) Lamp Monitoring with Audible / Tactile Indicators
Note that the Pedestrian stage must be exclusive of any Traffic Phases if Audibles
are used.
When these indications are active they have the following effects on the controller.
Indication 3: The all red period of intergreens is further extended by a period
of 8 seconds for any Vehicle to Ped. transition.
Indication 2: When Indication 2 becomes active the controller may be in
one of several states i.e.:
Case 1 - Controller running a stage other than that which
contains the Ped. with Audible / Tactiles:-
The Pedestrian phase will not appear.
Case 2 - Controller running stage in which the Ped. with
Audibles / Tactiles is run:-
The Controller will force VA mode, lift any extensions to ensure
that the Stage is run for only a minimum time. On leaving and
