9.3.4(o) Solar Override Confirm (SC)

An ‘SC’ reply bit may be returned to indicate that the signals are in the BRIGHT

condition. This may be from either of the following sources:

(i) the solar cell

(ii) the dim override switch on the manual panel

(iii) the ‘SO’ control bit being active

See also 9.3.3(9.3.3(d)).

9.3.4(p) Test Facility (TF)

A ‘TF’ reply bit may be returned to indicate that the handset has been plugged in.

9.3.4(q) Signals Flashing (FR)

A ‘FR’ bit may be returned to indicate Signals Flashing

9.3.4(r) Local Link Inhibit (LC)

An ‘LC’ bit may be returned to indicate that the Local Link is inhibited.

9.3.5 Special UTC Requirements

Special UTC requirements that can be programmed may include the following:

(a) One ‘G’ bit for more than one stage. Normally the ‘G’ bit does not stay

active during the interstage between the stages. If this is required, then

a dummy phase is allocated to all the stages that are to return the ‘G’

bit.

The dummy phase will then remain active during the interstages and is

programmed to return the ‘G’ bit instead of the stages active.

(b) UTC mode active disables selection of VA or Fixed Time mode.

9.3.6 OTU Links

The OTU in the Type 400 Controller may also control and monitor an adjacent

controller over a cabled link.

If the controller is a Pelican Controller, the control and reply bits will differ to those in

an Intersection Controller. The control and reply bits specifically for a Pelican

Controller are as follows:
