9. MODES
The following modes are available:
(a) Fixed Time (FT)
(b) Vehicle Actuated (VA)
(c) Cableless Linking
(d) Manual Operation
(e) Hurry Call
(f) Urban Traffic Control.
(g) Part Time (Off period)
(h) Start Up
(i) Manual Operation (Selected via mode switch)
(j) VA, CLF or FT Operation (selected via mode switch)
(k) Emergency Vehicle
(l) Priority (Non-emergency vehicle)
(m) Manual Step-On, if fitted.
(n) Pelican FVP mode
(o) Pelican VA mode
Selection of the modes is influenced by the following:
• Status of the incoming hurry call signals.
• Status of the UTC force and demand signals.
• Status of the Priority Inputs.
• Status of the manual select buttons
• Status of Part time requests.
• Timeswitch/CLF signals.
• Conditioning signals.
• Integrity of the hardware/software.
The mode priorities are defined during controller configuration with the following
restrictions, assuming all stipulated modes are utilised:
• Signals off periods during the part time cycle have highest priority.
• Hurry call modes 0 and 1 are in descending order but not necessarily
consecutive priority. Both hurry call modes must be higher priority than the VA
mode.
• Cableless linking mode must be higher priority than VA mode.
• Fixed time mode is always the lowest priority.
