16.3 PELICAN MANUAL PANEL

The Manual Panel used on a Pelican controller is essentially a reduced version of the

Intersection Panel, with the exception that the mode select buttons are replaced by

‘Cont Ped Demand’, ‘Cont Vehicle Extend’ and a ‘Select’ button for toggling between

‘VA’ mode and ‘Fixed Vehicle Period’ mode, see Figure 17.1.

16.4 EXTRA FACILITIES

16.4.1 Basic Manual Panel

If the manual panel is not required, then it can be replaced by a basic manual panel

which only contains a SIGNALS OFF/ON switch and CABINET ALARM LED (See

Figure 17.2). When this is used, handset commands are available for the selection and

display of Manual Facilities.

16.4.2 Fixings for BT Terminations

Modifications can be made to the manual panel to fit different types of British Telecom

(BT) terminal boxes.

The following types of BT terminal boxes can be fitted to the Manual Panel plastic

shroud:

(i) Type 14A

(ii) Type 35A

(iii) Type 14A and Line Jack Unit 1A
