25.2.8 Fault Finding at the Outstation

Symptom Possible Reason

System Fault LED lit on T400

Main Processor

- Use handset to access fault log for information on the

type of fault that has occurred, this may be an Integral

Ancillary Processor fault.

Watchdog LED On - Software not running correctly. Attempt to discover

the cause using the controller handset commands OTS

and OTH, and then power off and back on.

OTU not replying to control

message

- OTU Switch settings incorrect.

- OTU configured incorrectly via the handset, repeat

configuration.

- Extended system bus cable disconnected or faulty.

- No control data - low line level, interference, or BT

lead disconnected/faulty.

The lamp monitor will not

learn the junction or will not

detect lamp failures

- There are entries in the fault log which indicate the

reason - e.g. faulty voltage monitor or its connections.

- The lamp monitor is not enabled (KLE handset

command).

- The controller’s signals are off.

- The lamp monitor connector is not connected to PLB.

- Use the KAC handset command to check the lamp

monitor is taking readings.

25.2.9 Lithium battery

The outstation PCB is fitted with a Lithium Battery (B1, part number

418/4/97186/000),

This battery must be Replaced every 4 years. The battery has a label attached to it

with the date by which the battery should be replaced. When replacing the battery,

label the new one with today’s date plus 4 years’.

WARNING: Care should be taken when handling/disposing of Lithium batteries.

25.2.10 Recommended Spares
