T400 Controller Facilities Manual
667/EB/20200/000 Page 15-12 Issue 9
An example of this is a stage that is required not to appear initially. The stage is
prevented from appearing while the input is active. When the input is set inactive or
normal then the stage will be allowed to appear.
To override a facility, the controller is programmed so that the facility will be effective
when the correct conditions occur or a nominated input is set active.
An example of this is flashing amber signals at night time. The setting of the input
active will override the timetable setting and introduce the facility.
15.9 DETECTOR FAULT MONITORING (DFM)
DFM is allocated to specified detector inputs and, if required, pedestrian push-button
inputs.
If an input does not change state, i.e. is permanently active or permanently inactive, for
a specified period then the DFM will time out.
When the DFM times out the following happens:
(i) the cabinet alarm lamp situated in the manual panel door is illuminated.
(ii) the input will be either be used as before, forced active or forced
inactive as selected on the configuration sheet (see example Figure
21.7). This selection can be altered via the handset.
(iii) the appropriate fault log will be set
If the input then subsequently changes state and the DFM Reset push-button (if fitted)
on the Manual panel is operated or the RDF command handset is used before the DFM
timer times out again. Then the cabinet alarm lamp will be extinguished and the input
will resume normal operation. The fault log will not be reset until the appropriate
command is entered via the handset.
If the detector fault cannot be immediately repaired, then to clear the cabinet alarm
lamp and any DFM reply to the central office, and allow further faults to be indicated.
Do the following:
Use the ‘ADF’ command to accept the detector faults. This only removes the already
faulty input from DFM consideration, any faults on other inputs will still be flagged up.
N.B. After using ‘ADF’ DO NOT press DFM reset button on the manual panel or use
‘RDF’, otherwise DFM timer may reset and monitoring will resume on faulty input
giving repeat fault indications.
After having used ‘ADF’ and removed external fault indications (i.e. Fault log remains
intact). Use the appropriate ‘DET’ command to set the relevant input permanently
active, i.e. DET? = 1 where ? is the relevant DET number. This will provide a
permanent demand or extension as necessary.
