17.11 TIMESWITCH FACILITIES
17.11.1 Switch Audio off
This facility allows the pelican ped. audio signal to be turned off on a time of day basis.
The Audio will only switch on/off during the vehicle green period.
17.11.2 Alternative Max. sets
This facility allows the four time sets that are available for each of the modes i.e.
Pelican VA and FVP to be selectable on a time of day basis. To allow the UTC
“Switch to Alternative times” signal (described in 17.10.1) some priority over the
Timeset selection, the Timeswitch selection will only take effect when the UTC signal
is not active.
17.11.3 Switch to FVP mode
This facility disables Pelican VA mode and thus introduces FVP mode on the
pelican/pedestrian controller on a time of day basis.
17.11.4 Enhanced DFM
The later pelican configurations include the enhanced DFM facility, see section
15.9.1(15.9.1(b)).
17.12 CONDITIONING FACILITIES
17.12.1 Dual Level and Audible On/Off control.
Dual level audible operation is enabled via the handset. The changeover relay required
for the switching is located on the first I/O expansion board. Switching between the
two levels is achieved using the event timetable. Note that when using just the Loud
audible indication this I/O line can be used to switch the audible output On/Off. See
Figure 18.2.
When this facility is used no other signals can be allocated to Port 4.
On/Off control is effected as above or via the CPU output lines. The CPU line method
must be used if no expansion board is fitted.
For a Pelican Controller the supply for the Audibles will come from the 2-Phase driver
board.
17.12.2 Real Time Clock Synchronisation.
When enabled by the handset, two lines are dedicated - one to the Sync. input line and
the other to a confirm line. See also UTC facilities information (Section 17.10.1).
