inactive will set it permanently inactive. The state will continue until another timetable
setting switches it back to normal.
In the case of a detector input, the permanent active or inactive state will neither cause
the Detector Fault Monitor to start timing nor affect the monitoring of the detector.
In the example in Figure 21.13, Detector C1 is set inactive during Parameters 1 and 2.
(b) Introduce Alternative Maximum & Priority Time Settings
The standard maximum green times (Set A) for phases and standard Priority times
(Plan 0), if Priority mode is required, will be effective until switched by a timetable
setting.
There are three alternative maximum sets (B to D) and another three Bus Priority plans
(Sets B to D or Plan 1 to 3) available. Switching an alternative maximum facility active
will automatically switch the corresponding Bus Priority plan active.
All phase maximum green timings and all Bus Priority unit timings are switched when
an alternative maximum facility is introduced. Therefore, any timings that are required
not to be changed in an alternative plan, should be set to the same value as in the
previous plan.
Any timer that is active at the time of switching will remain effective until the next start
of that timing period.
e.g. If a maximum green of 50 seconds is timing off and the maximum is switched in
the middle of that 50 seconds to a new value of 30 seconds, the 50 seconds will still be
timed. The 30 seconds will become effective when that maximum green timer next has
a reason to start.
(c) Switch a Sign On/Off
A secret sign whose default state is extinguished may be illuminated by a timetable
setting. Alternatively a secret sign whose default state is illuminated may be
extinguished by a timetable setting. The facility used will depend on the required state
of the secret sign in the event of a timeclock failure, i.e. extinguished or illuminated. If
“Switch Sign OFF is used, the default state will automatically be sign ON, but if
“Switch Sign ON is used, the normal state will automatically be sign OFF.
NOTE: The two different facilities should not be used with the same switched sign.
(d) Switch a Stage/Phase In/Out of Cycle
Any stage, apart from Stage 1, and any phase may be deleted and re-introduced by a
timetable setting.
If a stage is deleted, then it will be omitted from the cycle until it is re-introduced.
