Blade Element
Formerly known in OSM as a Slice, this physical entity in the Blade Complex consists of a chassis,
processor board containing one or more processor elements (each supporting different Logical
Processors) and memory, I/O interface board, midplane, optics adapters, fans, and power supplies.
The assembly is designed to be mounted in a 19-inch rack.
When a Blade Complex has multiple Blade Elements, they are identified in the OSM tree pane as
400.1, 400.2, and 400.3. In the Attributes tab, the Serial Number attribute translates those values
to A, B, and C.
What OSM displays under the Blade Element object depends on the type of your HP Integrity
NonStop server.
For NonStop NS14000 series and NS16000 series servers, OSM displays:
• Two Blade Element Power Supply objects.
• A Blade Element Firmware object.
For NonStop NS1000, NS1200, NS2000 series, NS5000, or NS3000AC servers (except where
noted), OSM displays:
• A Blade System Board object (not applicable for NS5000 servers).
• A DVD-ROM object.
• A ServerNet Interface Card object.
