NOTE: The list of system types or configurations for which this action must be performed may
grow as other hardware and/or memory configurations requiring blade software beyond the base
versions required for NS16000 and NS14000 become available.
Install Core License File
Valid only for NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c and NB56000c, this action launches a guided
procedure to install core license files.
NOTE: This action installs the core license files and provides an option to enable the system to
run with the number of cores and processors specified in the license file. If the enable option is not
selected during this procedure, the Update Running Core License action must be used for
enablement.
Perform Data Sanitization
This action launches a guided procedure that provides a simple and secure method for erasing all
data from disk drives that are to be retired from service. The procedure can be used to sanitize
any SCSI, FC, SAS, or CLIM-attached disks that are connected to a system and are in the Down
state. For more information on using the procedure, see the online help available from within the
guided procedure.
Read Core License
Valid only for NonStop BladeSystem NB54000c and NB56000c, this action reads the core license
file and displays (in the Action Detail dialog box) the system serial number, the number of enabled
cores, and the number of enabled processors
If the core license file is missing or does not match, the action returns an error indicating that the
correct license file needs to be installed.
Rediscover System
Causes OSM to refresh and reanalyze all components within the system.
Rediscover System and Cluster
Causes OSM to refresh and reanalyze all components within the system and the ServerNet cluster
or NonStop BladeCluster.
NOTE: This action is not available for Integrity NonStop NS1000, NS1200, NS2000 series,
NS2100, NS2200 series, NS2300, NS2400 series, NS5000, or NS3000AC servers.
Reinitialize Complex Manager
Reinitializes the Complex Manager Auxiliary Process (CMAP) for each processor in the system.
This action is intended only for Integrity NonStop NS14000 series and NS16000 series servers
running H06.12 or later; it fails harmlessly (and no CMAP events are logged) when performed on
other system types or when running pre-H06.12 SUTs.
CAUTION: The action should be performed only in cooperation with HP Support. If used
improperly, an outage could occur. You must avoid all processor actions and cable changes while
CMAP reinitialization is in progress.
It is recommended that you open an OSM event viewer session with the following retrieval criteria
before proceeding with this action: $ZLOG, using View Options - Realtime, Filter Criteria owner
TANDEM, Subsys name(s) - CMAP. (To launch an event viewer session from the OSM Service
Connection, it may be necessary to cancel the action, open the event viewer session, then initiate
the action again.)
