Responsive Test
Verifies that the disk drive is installed and responding.
Save as System Load Configuration
Specifies, within OSM, this disk as an alternate system load volume. For NonStop BladeSystem
NB54000c and NB56000c only, if the action passes and a valid core license file is present in
$SYSTEM, OSM offers to copy the license file copied to each new alternate system disk.
You can specify up to four such alternate system load configurations. Each one is displayed under
the system attributes in the OSM Service Connection and can be selected from within the System
Load dialog box in the OSM Low-Level Link.
NOTE: With OSM Low-Level Link T0633 AAQ and later, you can also save system configuration
files on the system console. Those saved configurations are not displayed as attributes values in
the OSM Service Connection, but can be used during the system load operations in the Low-Level
Link. For more information, see the OSM Low-Level Link online help.
Spin Down
Stops the physical spinning of the disk drive. This should be done before removing a disk drive.
Both paths must be down for the action to succeed.
Spin Up
Starts the physical spinning of the disk drive.
Start Backup Path
Starts the backup path to this disk drive. When the Start action completes, the backup path is in
the Started state.
This action fails if both paths to this disk are down and the mirrored disk is Up. For more information,
see Start Disk.
Start Disk
Use this action to start all paths to the disk drive only when:
• The disk paths are in a Down state. (Hard Down states require a reset action, either Reset
Disk, Reset Primary Path, or Reset Backup Path as appropriate.)
• Its mirrored disk is not currently Up. The Start Disk action is designed to fail if the mirrored
disk is already in an Up state because the mirror and primary disk volumes can have different
data and require a revive operation. To revive and bring up the disks properly, use the OSM
Start Volume action or SCF START DISK command.
When the action completes successfully, all paths to the disk are in the Started state.
Start Primary Path
Starts the primary path to this disk drive. When the Start action completes, the primary path is in
the Started state.
This action fails if both paths to this disk are down and the mirrored disk is Up. For more information,
see Start Disk.
Start Volume
Starts all paths for both the primary and mirror drives of this volume unless they are in a Hard
Down state. Disk paths in a Hard Down state require a reset action first (either Reset Disk, Reset
Primary Path, or Reset Backup Path as appropriate).
