23.3 Exporting the configuration
Note
When exporting the configuration, not all of the settings are backed up. Some of the settings, e.g. the
language, cash dispenser or banking settings, will be lost during the export.
To duplicate a system please proceed as described in Section
1610H23.4: 1611HDuplicating the system.
The Export configuration button can be used to back up the system and user
configuration and transfer them to other systems.
Prerequisites
z The SISTORE MX NVS software has been started.
See Section "
1612HStarting SISTORE MX NVS and logging in“, page 1613H17.
z The SISTORE MX NVS software is in configuration mode.

1. Select the Information tab.
2. Click the Export configuration button
.
Î The Save As... dialog opens.
3. Select the directory in which to save the configuration.
4. Enter a name in the File name field.
5. Click Save.
Î The configuration will be saved.
Î The Save As... dialog will close.
23.4 Duplicating the system
You can create a complete duplicate of your SISTORE MX NVS setup by manually
copying the configuration files from a source to a target system.
Prerequisites:
z SISTORE MX NVS (source system) has been started.
z An external storage medium (e.g. USB stick) is connected.
1. Close the SISTORE MX NVS application software on the source system.
2. In the source system, navigate to the directory
"c:\program files\siemens\sistore mx nvs“.
3. Copy the following configuration files from the directory to an external storage
medium (e.g. USB stick):
– SISTORE.dat
– SISTORE.bak
– SISTORE.map
– *.ini (all .ini files in the directory)
4. Start the target system.
5. Close the SISTORE MX NVS application software on the target system.
6. In the target system, navigate to the directory
"c:\program files\siemens\sistore mx nvs“.
7. Copy the configuration files from the external storage medium into this directory.
Î The Confirm File Replace dialog opens.
8. Click
Yes to All in the Confirm File Replace dialog.
Î The system is duplicated.
