1.3 Supported communication structures

The MOVITOOLS

software lets you operate various communication structures via the

MPI. For example, SIMATIC S7 systems linked via the MPI bus supply all the informa-

tion about drives connected via PROFIBUS-DP bus to a central diagnostics PC on which

MOVITOOLS

is installed. In this way, you can access all SEW-EURODRIVE drives

(→ Figure 2).

Using MOVITOOLS

via MPI also offers the option to set the parameters of up to 90

drive inverters connected to the PROFIBUS-DP master systems of a SIMATIC S7-CPU

(→ Figure 3).
