Limited functionality of MOVITOOLS® with PROFIBUS-DP
Configuration and Start of MOVITOOLS®
Problems when
connecting to
MPI
Check the following setting in case you fail to establish an online connection to the SEW-
EURODRIVE drives:
• Number of inverters and address information in hardware data block (declaration
view)
• MPI communication parameters in MoviLinkSwitcher
You can use an integrated debugger to obtain more information which you can use for
diagnostics of your MPI connection. Select the [User Debug] option in the MoviLink-
Switcher to define the MPI connection and start the debugger with the [Start Debug-
ger] button. See the section "Appendix" for a description on how to proceed.

with PROFIBUS-DP
MOVITOOLS

with PROFIBUS DPV1 offers expanded functions for the acyclical ex-
change of parameter data. MOVITOOLS
®
uses the parameter channel with limited func-
tions when working with PROFIBUS-DP.
The following MOVITOOLS
®
functions are not available with PROFIBUS DPV0:
• MOVIDRIVE drive inverters

function data blocks of the VXXX_DPV1.ZIP file, you can use MOVITOOLS
®
without
limitations.
