In the OSx Merge Utility, an OSx system into which configurations from a

source OSx system are to be merged.

Tag that represents a field device, such as a valve or motor.

The representation or transmission of data by discrete signals.

A historical or real-time plot of discrete or digital (as opposed to analog or

continuous) data points.

Dynamic Object Editor. Graphics animation editor that is used either to

animate a static object or to enhance the animation of a DDO.

Each tag attribute has a domain, or range of possible values. The three

categories of domains are set, scalar, and standard. For example, the

domain for the attribute descriptor is STRING [30], or a string of text and

numeric values 30 characters long.

In the OSx Merge Utility, an OSx configuration extracted from a source

OSx system that has the same name as a configuration of the same type on

the destination system.

Graphic object used to animate static objects based on process data.

Characters that represent variable values in the text of action requests.

DOS computer that runs APT or Windows NT computer that runs the

Engineering Toolset.

Enhances the programming capabilities of STEP 7; includes SFCs, CFCs, S7

libraries. The OSx Library and the PV Mapper are add-ons for the

Engineering Toolset.

Local area network consisting of ethernet card and other network

hardware/software for the remote system. Used with RDT.

Batch Control Language program routine that enables the program to

manipulate data when a specific event occurs.

Dialog box, accessed under Startup on the OSx menu bar, that is used to

specify user preferences such as event scan period, alarm r efresh rate,

data staleness period, internal annunciator, external annunciator, alarm

output mode, and auto state transition for an OSx station.
