1.2 Supported communication structures

You can set up a communication connection from any PC via Ethernet TCP/IP and

PROFIBUS-DP to SEW drive electronics by simply implementing the new SEW function

block "SMLP-Server" (SMLP = Simple MOVILINK Protokoll) in a SIMATIC S7.

All information about the communication link is stored in the SIMATIC S7 program. This

means any PC with MOVITOOLS

and access to the Ethernet network will be able to

access the drive information. The PC does not require any SIMATIC S7 project informa-

tion.

The communication structure has been designed to give you access to up to three

PROFIBUS master systems. A peer-to-peer connection will be established between the

SIMATIC S7 and the PC via port 300 (→ following figure).
